Costume College Recap Part One
Aug. 6th, 2014 11:41 pmI flew into the Burbank airport, arriving about 3pm on Thursday. Luckily, my dad was in LA visiting my grandparents, so he and my grandpa came and picked me up and drove me over to the hotel, after a quick stop-off at PF Changs for drinks and appetizers. I checked in to the hotel, and changed into my new Regency sari dress before heading downstairs to check in for CosCol.
As usual, I never seem to get pictures of myself at the pool party, so here's one picture by Laurie Tavan:
Friday was a little light for me on classes. I went to Kendra's 18th c hair class. It probably would have been more helpful before I used her book to make my wig, but I still learned some things that weren't covered in her book. I also went to Regency Bib-Front dress, where I got to examine three actual Regency gowns, and I went to Make the Camera Love You. I thought I would learn something there (like a new pose other than the one I always do), but unfortunately, all I learned was that I was basically doing everything right already. So apparently it's the cameraman's fault that I take terrible pictures? I don't know...
For Friday, I wore my Seaside Bustle, with my new hat and a new hairpiece. I thought the hair looked fine when I put it on, but looking at the pictures, I really hate it. Of course, it doesn't help that my hat was way falling off my head. See for yourself:
