Jan. 9th, 2015 12:30 amI think it's shantung. There were a couple spots on the silk I bought yesterday, so I tried to wash it. Naturally, after washing it, letting it mostly dry, and ironing the whole giant five yards of fabric, at least three spots are still there. And all of them are in the middle! I mean, I got enough fabric, so I'm sure I can cut around, but there's also what seems like giant set-in crinkles in the fabric. So tomorrow I'll just have to examine what the least evil areas are, and cut from there. Thank goodness I've got a couple extra yards.
Oh, and I now have 26 rows of cording done. I'm a bit worried that the petticoat is beginning to become too short, but I suppose I can always add a yoke. I still have soooo much more cording to do, too. Probably at least a good 20 rows left.
In other news, I got a job today! I was actually offered the position right at the end of my interview, which was pretty cool. I'm hoping that this means I might be able to qualify for a mortgage now, too. I start work on Monday.
And just so we're not pictureless, here's a shot I took of the cording, about 8 or so rows ago.
