For the colorful trim on the skirt and bodice ruffles, I am going to use a variegated thread in the the two opposite scallop stitches like I had done before, but instead of doing the weird eye of Sauron thing in the middle, I'm going to use fabric paint inside the scallops. Unfortunately, though, I had to order heat away stabilizer online, since I couldn't find any at Joanns, so I'll have to wait a week to actually do it. Here's a pic - what do you think?

I also found a solution for the orange and black diagonal striped waistband. I came across orange and black striped quilting cotton on sale at Joanns today, got just over a yard, and cut it on the bias. I used fusible stabilizer to make sure it wouldn't stretch, and I think it will be pretty perfect. I may layer some of the organza over it as well, to blend it in a little more, but first I have to make sure I have enough left for the ruching on the bodice. Here's a pic:
