May. 21st, 2015 08:21 amI made it to Joanns yesterday after work, and picked up the threads and the fringe (as well as some twill for the interlining, since I couldn't find any on my shelves). Naturally, the green thread I had run out of was an older spool, and Coats & Clark has changed their numbering system since it was made. So I wasn't able to get an exact match, but I think it's close enough.
I finished the topstitching on the bias strips, and attached the missing bit of fringe. And I even sewed the bias strip on to the front apron drape. Let me tell you, triple stitching on the edge of a curved piece of fabric with fringe coming off the side is sooo difficult to steer! So it's definitely not perfect, but hopefully no one is planning to get close enough to my skirt that they can see where the stitches zig off a bit as it tried to run off the edge of the bias. I do like how it looks overall, though - it's getting closer to the fashion plate!
Here's a pic:

PS. Fringe is very static-y. Maybe rubbing it down with a dryer sheet will help?
Oh, and in different project news, I finished the smocking for Little Red! Which means now I have nothing to sew on the bus...
