My Rapunzel skirt panels are all serged and sewn together! Considering what a pain this poly satin is being, I consider that an accomplishment. I cut off about 2" of the hem, because it was feeling way too long, and I also had to even up all my seams, because I find that bias seams on poly satin never wind up the same length. But at this point, the skirt should be ready for embroidery!

I also shortened the bodice by about 1.5-2", because it was going way too low over my hips. Now that I've finally decided on length, I was able to order my boning last night, so I'm going to be able to pick that up this evening. I also started putting the piping on the bodice - I got one side of the neckline and hem done, and once the bones are in, I'll be able to whip it all down on the bus.

My goal for tonight is to put all my boning channels and boning in, and if that all goes smoothly, I might start on the embroidery.

I also still need to think about that reticule for Saturday, so that might happen tonight, too. Probably another quick and plain one. I looked into adding horsehair to my hem for Saturday, but I only have three yards, and I'm pretty sure my hem is bigger than that. I guess it doesn't hurt to actually measure it and make sure.

I've also been brainstorming hair options for Rapunzel. As much as I would love to have the giant blonde braid, I am not blonde, and I don't much fancy the idea of wearing a wig all day at the parks. Also, I'm kind of thinking that they might be more likely to let me in to Epcot on Halloween night if I'm not wearing the wig. so I'm thinking I'm going to braid in a long red hairpiece (probably the one I used for my green and ivory bustle gown at CoCo), and just clip lots of flowers into that. Any other ideas?
