I managed to hem the organza layer of the Ariel skirt yesterday, but that was it because I had a headache and hemming a giant organza circle skirt is one of the worst things ever. I have since been informed that you can cut them with a hot knife and not need to hem them, and I am determined to do this on any future giant organza skirt.

I did also finally turn that boot embroidery piece I did a couple months ago into a bolster for our bedroom door. I didn't wind up embroidering the other side (because if I haven't done it in the last two months, it's probably never going to get done), but I put the two pieces together, and filled them up. For the bottom of the boot, I used two bags of lentils which I had bought a couple years ago for Antoinette's stocking boobs, and I filled the rest up with batting. And now we don't have to stick tshirts or slippers in the doorway (we need it open a few inches so our dog can get in and out.)

So far today, I've hemmed the sequin layer of Ariel's skirt. It actually was waaay easier than I feared it would be, so that was nice. In a few mins I'm going to start on the satin layer. Other that that, I'm hoping to put in skirt hooks, tags, and hanging loops on the skirt and petticoat by tonight, because then the skirts will be completely done. I have to wait for the bodice mockup to get back to me before I can start on the bodice, so I might have a day or two break from her, which will be nice.

And tomorrow is the Victorian Festival! I'll try to take lots of pictures. :)

Edit: Yay! Completely finished the Ariel skirt, including all the hemming, plus hanger loops, hooks and eyes, and tags on both skirt and petticoat!
