I'm sorry that things are going so badly with the dyeing and the fabric. That really sucks. When I used unhemmed silk organza, I pinked the edges and fray-checked them (although maybe not as thoroughly as I could have) and got a ton of fraying. So be sure to fray-check really well if you're not going to hem it.
