The Rapunzel skirt is almost finished. I had a lot of battles with the satin today, which really slowed me down, and I've now decided that satin is officially my 3rd least favorite fabric (behind chiffon and that white linen from my pink candy early bustle). But anyway, at this point, all I have to do is hem the front panel, add the lace to the hem of the front panel, and put a hook and eye at the waist. Then it's on to the bodice. Here's a pic:



I have to admit, though, working on this is making me itch to get back to my handsewn 1860s bodice!

Also, when I was skimming entries, I thought your subject line said "Satan is evil". ... Satin/Satan...same thing, right?

There's a hole in the wall fabric place down here that has heavier bridal weight satin which might be better for embroidery if you can find a local source. The other thought was that silk taffeta has a nice sheen, but then it wouldn't be washable. Best of luck with the rest of your satin challenge.
