We basically spent the whole day working on the sewing table today, and it's still not done. We bought a couple different thicknesses of plywood - one for the top, one for the bottom, and one for the backings of the cubby units, which will also serve as a support help for the top. Luckily, we had lots of scrap pieces left over from the cuts, because my bf wound up having to super strengthen the bottom piece - it just wanted to bend all over the place. While I ran to Joanns for the fabric, batting, and insulbright for the top of the table, he sandwiched a whole bunch of pieces together for the bottom and added the wheels. Then we put the cubby units on top, and he screwed those into place. We also nailed the cubby units together where the edges meet at the front of the table. He then screwed the support backing pieces to each other, and slid them into place between the cubbies, and slid an additional square of plywood into place on the center of the bottom, to keep the supports nice and tight against the cubby backs.

The open space in the cubbies will be used to store the box to my Viking (which has the hard plastic cover inside it), and the embroidery unit case for my Brother. We were going to go ahead and put the batting and such on the top plywood, but with the smooth side up, it wasn't laying nicely on top of the cubby units. When we flipped it over, it layed nicely, but it had a couple divots where knots were, and some ridges in the grain. So he coated the whole thing in some sort of drywall paste stuff, and will sand it off tomorrow once it's totally dry. Then we can put the batting etc on it before everyone comes over for the housewarming.

I also still need to clean, since that really didn't get done today, and obviously I didn't get to work on the bustle gown.

I'm not planning on writing a full tutorial, but I will post a bunch of pics later.

Oh, and my back is feeling a little better. I had my corset on this morning, and then use a Solanpas patch this afternoon. And I've been trying to lift as little as possible.
