I'm probably insane. I cut all my strips for the painted/embroidered ruffles on the gala gown tonight - it's a grand total of 600 inches. Each motif is 1.25," which means a total of 480 motifs! This is going to take a while... I'm probably going to do all of the embroidery stitches first, and then force myself to do a bunch of painted motifs every day, until I finish. What's the chance I can finish in two weeks without getting distracted and start running off to one of my other projects?

Too clownish?
Jan. 24th, 2015 07:02 pmI did 1/10th of the ruffles today, and pinned it in place. But now I'm worried it looks to clownish! Does it? Or am I just being crazy? And just fyi, the cording is just pinned on top right now, so the ruffle will actually be about .5" shorter when it's really sewn on. And of course, I'll have a real sleeve instead of a scrap of fabric. :)
