May. 12th, 2015 12:03 pmI skipped out on the theatre thing I had planned to attend yesterday, which meant I had some time to work on Belle (and go grocery shopping). So at this point, all of the organza panels are sewn together and hemmed. That means they're ready to be gathered! I think I'm going to gather them separately from the lace panels, because I want them to have more chance to pouf. I still have to sew the lace panels together, but there's only two, and since the lace doesn't fray, I don't have to finish the top edge (the bottom edge is the selvage). Which is good, because the less sewing I have to do on fabric that contains sequins, the better! I already noticed some sequins hiding out on the floor - nothing like the mess that Elsa created, but then again, there's less sequins here and they're much smaller.
I'm seeing Pitch Perfect 2 tonight, so no sewing will happen, but I think I'm actually free after work every other day this week, so hopefully the skirt will be finished shortly. If I can finish it before the velvet arrives, then I'll actually have a little window of time to work on projects for me!
Remember how a month ago I was feeling so cocky about what little I have to do before Costume College? Yeah. I don't feel that way anymore...
